hey guys,
I've been having some issues with winamp for the past day or so. I set winamp to be my default music player, but since yesterday, everytime I play files, windows media pops up. I've done everything I could to fix it, but nothing seems to be working for me. Can I get some help? comments please?

by default with out doing anything winamp tries to take over anyway.
simple solution right click and select play in winamp
That's what I do, or u could go grab XP lite, and remove WMP, but u really don't need to do that.
Another thing that I'd try, is go into winamp preferences with control p, arrow down to file types, and hit the all button, then tab to close, just to make sure winamp is set to play all the file formats it can handle

Let us try this, shall we?
1. open my documents
2. hit alt t for tools
3. hit up arrow to folder options, hit enter
4. hit shift tab to get to tabs
5. hit right arrow twice to get to file types
6. Wait for list view to come up, and hit letter m to the m's list, scroll down to mp3(I'm assuming that is the filetype you want)
7. tab 3 times to the change button and hit spacebar
8. a treeview comes up with the list of programs, choose one and hit tab, hit spacebar to check it to be default player if it is not already so, then tab to ok, hit spacebar.
9. Hit tab to ok and hit spacebar.
10. follow steps 6 through 9 for more than just one filetype you wish changed.
p.s if a program is not in the list in the treeview, hit the browse button and look for it.
